What happens after I send this?

You get a reply within one business day, from someone who would work on the project rather than from a sales desk. If your message describes a specific problem, the reply will usually contain a first opinion on it.

Is the first call a sales pitch?

No. There is no deck and no discovery-call funnel. We will ask what is not working, what you have already tried, and what it is costing you — and then tell you what we would do first.

Question 3

Do I need to know exactly what I want?

Accepted Answer

No. "The phone stopped ringing and I do not know why" is a perfectly good starting point, and diagnosing that is the part we are good at. Arriving with a fully specified brief is welcome but not expected.

What should I include in the message?

What is not working, roughly when it started, anything you have already tried, and a link to your site or ad account if you have one. Specifics get you a more useful reply than a general enquiry does.

Does the first conversation cost anything?

Accepted Answer

No. Nor does the honest answer at the end of it, which is sometimes that the thing you asked for is not the thing you need.

What if we are not a fit?

Accepted Answer

We will say so on that first call rather than three weeks into a proposal, and where we can we will point you at someone better suited. Taking on work we are wrong for is how small teams get bad at everything.
